OUR STORY
A SNACK THAT
TASTES LIKE MAINE.
Tidekind started on a lobster boat in Casco Bay. In the off-season, the same boats that fish for lobster in summer tend kelp lines through the winter. The kelp was good. The market wasn’t. So we built one.
We dry it, bake it thin and season it loud. What comes out is a crunchy, salty, snackable thing that happens to be one of the most sustainable foods on the planet. It needs no fresh water, no feed and no fertilizer, and it cleans the bay while it grows.
Every bag keeps a boat working through the winter and a stretch of coast growing. That is the whole business plan.
